For those of you who don't know, I'm a vegan, which means I don't eat any animal products (meat, dairy, eggs, honey). Some might find it daunting to live such a restricted life, but it doesn't feel that way to me. I just find substitutes which taste pretty much the same.
This banana ice cream or "nice cream" might not taste EXACTLY like regular ice cream, but the texture and sweetness are pretty spot on. It's also SUPER easy with no preservatives added....And it's only 1 ingredient!
Ingredients:
- 2 bananas
- 1/4 cup milk (I used almond milk)
- topping/add-ins of choice
What to do:

Ingredients:
- 2 bananas
- 1/4 cup milk (I used almond milk)
- topping/add-ins of choice
What to do:
1. Take your bananas (duh!)
2. Peel them...
3. Slice them in a bowl, then cover with plastic wrap.
4. Freeze the bananas for 6 hours (or overnight!)
5. Blend them until it looks like crushed ice. Add in the almond milk.
6. It will become smooth, like this (not the best-looking pic, I know).
7. You can add in whatever you like! I added in some cacao powder and peanut butter.
8. Eat it!
I swear, my food does NOT always look this gross.
*Silence*
But give it a go anyways, and tell me what you think! I really recommend freezing the bananas until rock solid, and not adding too much almond milk which will make it melt. (I added in 1 cup of almond milk...looks like a milkshake...)
Some healthy topping ideas:
- pb/ab/any nut butter
- cacao/dark chocolate chips
- cinnamon
- coconut flakes/shreds
- dates, or any fruit...make sure there is no added sugar!
- coconut sugar
- granola
- nuts
- chia seeds/hemp hearts
Tell me what you think in the comments below :)
